Kiev 19

The Kiev 19 is a Soviet-manufactured 35mm SLR camera produced by Arsenal in Kiev between 1985 and 1990. As a typical product of the late Soviet era, it embodies the utilitarian design philosophy and manufacturing constraints of the time. Built largely from metal, featuring basic manual controls (shutter speed dial, aperture ring on lens, focus ring), and accepting standard M42 screw-mount lenses, the Kiev 19 aimed to provide affordable photography for the domestic market. It represents a continuation of the Arsenal factory's long-standing production of SLR derivatives, offering a straightforward, if somewhat rudimentary, shooting experience without the advanced features or precision of Western contemporaries.
