Leica CL Dummy

The Leica CL Dummy is a non-functional display model produced by Leica from 1973 to 1975, designed for showroom demonstrations and exhibitions. Physically identical to the operational Leica CL compact rangefinder, it mimics the appearance of a functional 35mm camera but lacks internal mechanisms, making it a purely visual artifact. Its sole purpose was to showcase the design and ergonomics of the CL without functioning as a photographic tool, serving merely as a marketing prop rather than an instrument for creating images.
