The Praktica MTL 50 is a representative example of the late 1980s budget 35mm SLR market, produced by the East German VEB Pentacon Dresden from 1985 to 1989. It features a robust, all-metal construction typical of Praktica's manual-focus SLRs, offering reliable performance at an affordable price point.
